U.S. TECH GIANTS MIGHT BE LOSING DOMINANCE PREMIUM
The stock rout triggered by Chinese artificial-intelligence company DeepSeek indicates that U.S. tech giants might be losing their dominance premium, Kathleen Brooks, research director at XTB, writes in a note to clients. "If China is catching up quickly to the U.S. in the AI race, then the economics of AI will be turned on its head," she says. DeepSeek trained new models on a significantly lower budget than Western rivals.
