Cup and Handle Breakout in Xiaomi – What Traders Should Watch
$XIAOMI-W(01810)$ surged after a successful launch of its YU7 SUV, which saw 200,000 units ordered within 3 minutes
Although not an exact apple-to-apple comparison, the early launch performance of Xiaomi’s YU7 SUV significantly outpaced that of the SU7 Ultra sedan. The YU7 received an impressive 200,000 confirmed orders within just 3 minutes, and 289,000 orders within the first hour of its launch. In contrast, the SU7 Ultra — a premium variant of Xiaomi’s first EV — recorded 6,900 orders in 10 minutes and exceeded 10,000 orders within 2 hours. While both models cater to different segments, the stark difference in early demand highlights the broader appeal and mass-market positioning of the YU7.

Using DLCs for Short-Term Trading
-
Daily Leverage Certificates (DLCs) allow short-term traders to gain magnified exposure to Xiaomi’s price movement.
-
If the bullish breakout holds above HK$55, long DLCs ( $Xiaomi 5xLongSG270216(HPMW.SI)$ ) may benefit from continued upward momentum.
-
If price fails to hold HK$55, short-term traders may consider short DLCs ( $Xiaomi 5xShortSG261223(YW5W.SI)$ ) to benefit from potential pullbacks.
-
DLCs are suited for active, short-term strategies and not intended for long-term holding due to compounding effects.
