Based on my experience of trading both Stocks and Options for the past 4 years, options is certainly a double-edged sword. It can supplement your stocks (I sell cash-secured puts and covered calls) as additional income while waiting for the price to appreciate over time. However, when price movement is extreme, it can cause you to lose out on potentially larger gains. In the end, it really depends on your investment style.
