Australia's top court just handed Qantas a brutal A$90M fine for illegally firing 1,820 ground staff during COVID - calling their apology more about PR damage control than actual remorse.

Judge Michael Lee shredded Qantas’ courtroom tactics and accused the airline of caring more about its image than its workers.

He said the company was “the wrong kind of sorry” and slammed its CEO’s press releases as hollow spin.

A$50M of the fine goes to the Transport Workers’ Union, which sued and won against what they called a “ruthless behemoth.”
