Stock whisperer: part one.

So as you can see by chart below 2024 was a very good year with just over 1000% return. Can't complain really. But how did I do so well? Thing is I concentrated. I had a broad portfolio for sure, lots of dividend stocks that did fine, averaging 15%. But I bet heavily on one horse called $Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$ . And to a lessor extent $AST SpaceMobile, Inc.(ASTS)$  and $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$  all of which went crazy. Over 90% of my portfolio was in these 3 stocks. Pure madness right? Well the results say otherwise.

So I guess, the lesson learned was sometimes it better not to follow conventions. I saw palantir and Asts as way overpriced at $63 and $25 respectively, but that didn't matter really. We all know what they trade at today.

Rocket lab was truly different. It was a unicorn Back then. I could not fathom how it was so incredibly cheap (around $3). My DD came to the conclusion that rocket lab was a once in a lifetime buying opportunity. So I threw everything at it. Including buying insanely cheap long call options out to 2026. Over the year I sold half the call options and excised the other half with the profits.

The insane return in 2024, over 1000% I believe will not be repeated unless I find another rocket lab. And in 2026, well I don't have one. I think my set up will likely see a lot at least 2x which is not at all shabby. But this is part one in the journey. Part two will look at 2025, and how my strategy had to change.
