$BABA-W(09988)$ Saw that Alibaba's 1688 is pushing an AI agent called XiangZao, aimed at C-end custom merchandise. It's currently built into the main 1688 platform. Users can handle the whole process on their own through AI — design creation, finished product preview, getting a quote, and placing the order in one go. Once an order is generated, the system parses it with AI and automatically routes it to the production line, matching things like the factory's materials, processes, and die-cutting setups, so the factory doesn't need to do a second round of processing. That should meaningfully boost production efficiency and cut costs at the same time. Also heard XiangZao might roll out a standalone app later.
