$Micron Technology(MU)$ Buybacks have been making investors rich for a while now, and that's exactly why the Chips Act blocked companies receiving government grants from doing them. Buybacks reduce the total share count. It doesn't quite add up to do a split to create shares when you're doing buybacks to destroy shares. So which would you rather have: a split that doesn't really do anything for you, or a buyback that pushes the share price up?
