$SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust(SPY)$ $Bloom Energy Corp(BE)$ Just some long weekend thoughts I haven't seen mentioned anywhere. What if China is creating the false narrative that data centers are bad to try to turn people against data center construction so they can get ahead? I've been working in data centers since the boom started in 2023, and most of the arguments against them are false. The water use narrative is based on old 2000s technology that used evaporative cooling like cooling towers. Now pretty much everything is closed loop CRAH or CRAC units. As for power use, all the current new builds in Illinois are using onsite power such as Bloom Energy in some way, and all will eventually be fully self-powered.
