AMD laid out an aggressive AI growth strategy at Citi's Global TMT Conference, backed by an estimated $2 trillion total addressable market by 2030. The company sees AI computing shifting quickly from model training toward inference, especially as workloads move from basic chatbots to autonomous and agentic AI systems.
AMD expects its data-center business to more than double next year, while its next-generation MI450 AI GPU launches this quarter, with production ramping in Q4 and through 2027. Server CPU demand is also picking up, with the business expected to grow more than 80% YoY in H2 2026 and over 70% next year.
Demand is building for AMD's Helios rack-scale systems, with Meta and two undisclosed AI labs already projecting demand above their initial purchase commitments. Helios volumes for 2027 are now expected to come in above earlier forecasts, while new "neo-cloud" providers are adding further demand.
