Comparing two of the top female CEOs in tech: Dr. Lisa Su at $Advanced Micro Devices(AMD)$ and Jayshree Ullal at ANET.
Jayshree Ullal started at Crescendo Communications, which became Cisco's first-ever corporate acquisition. She spent over 15 years at $Cisco(CSCO)$ , rising to Senior VP and building their Data Center & Switching division into a $10B+ revenue business. In 2008, she became CEO of Arista Networks when it had roughly 50 employees and zero revenue. She has since built Arista into a $250B+ AI/cloud networking company, taking significant market share from her former employer $Cisco(CSCO)$ , and became one of the most successful self-made billionaire executives in tech.
Lisa Su holds a PhD in EE from MIT and pioneered copper interconnect technology at IBM before joining AMD and becoming CEO in 2014, when the company was near bankruptcy with a $2 stock. By committing to the Zen CPU architecture, she pulled off one of the biggest corporate turnarounds in history, surpassing $Intel(INTC)$ in market cap and taking critical data center market share. Now AMD is positioned as the primary challenger to $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ in AI accelerators with the MI300 series.
As for who wins, both are brilliant EE engineers turned operators who let product execution do the talking. Lisa Su has rockstar status with retail investors, while Jayshree is known for being down-to-earth and approachable. In the end, I'd give it to Lisa Su in a close contest. Jayshree's accomplishments are hard to ignore, but Lisa's rescue of AMD from the brink, along with positioning against $Intel(INTC)$ and $NVIDIA(NVDA)$ , gives her the edge.
