$Bloom Energy Corp(BE)$ One underappreciated advantage of Bloom's technology: it may be easier to live next to.
Opposition to data centers is increasingly becoming a real development constraint. A 2026 Annenberg survey found 61% of Americans oppose new data centers in their area, with pollution—including noise and air pollution—among the commonly cited concerns.
This is where Bloom's technology gets interesting.
Bloom's solid-oxide fuel cells generate electricity without combustion. Compared with conventional gas turbines and diesel generators, that means far fewer air pollutants, much lower noise, very little water consumption, no large combustion exhaust stacks, and compact, modular onsite deployment.
Bloom specifically describes the Energy Server as having a "minimal noise profile" and near-zero criteria air-pollutant emissions. Its 10-K says the system has "no noise pollution" and a negligible impact on air quality.
