$IAU 20261030 77.5 PUT$ ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’— BLINK FANS: How I Scalp IAU Gold Options for a Quick Profit! ๐Ÿช™๐Ÿ“ˆ

๐Ÿ’— 1. Why I Bought IAU PUT Options

Today, I decided to trade IAU, the gold ETF, using options rather than buying or selling the ETF shares directly. My strategy was simple: look for a short-term opportunity, enter at a reasonable price and take profit when the market gave me a chance.

I bought one IAU $77.50 put option expiring on 30 October at $0.83. A put option generally increases in value when the underlying asset falls, although its price also depends on time remaining, implied volatility and other factors.

My trade was not a prediction that gold would collapse. I was looking for a short-term move that I could trade carefully.

๐Ÿ“Š 2. What the 5-Minute Chart Told Me

The 5-minute chart was my main tool for observing price action. IAU had climbed towards $78.08 before pulling back towards $77.68.

After the rally, I noticed that the price was retreating and the short-term moving averages were beginning to converge around the current price. This suggested that the strong upward momentum was cooling.

However, a pullback does not automatically mean that gold will continue falling. Price can reverse at any time, especially when trading a liquid ETF during a volatile session.

That is why I watched the chart rather than simply holding my option and hoping for a bigger profit.

๐Ÿ’ฐ 3. My Quick Exit at $0.90

I bought the put option at $0.83 and sold it at $0.90.

The difference was $0.07 per share. Since one standard US equity option contract typically represents 100 shares, my gross profit was:

($0.90 โˆ’ $0.83) ร— 100 = $7

That is a $7 gross profit before commissions and other trading costs.

Some people may think $7 is a small amount, but my focus was on executing my plan. I did not need to hold the position for hours or attempt to capture every cent of movement.

I wanted to take the available profit and avoid allowing a winning trade to turn into a losing one.

๐ŸŽฏ 4. Why I Prefer Taking Profits Early

One of the biggest challenges in trading is knowing when to exit. When a position turns profitable, it is tempting to wait for another $5 or $10.

But the market does not owe me more profit.

A put option can lose value if IAU rebounds, volatility falls or time passes. Even when my market view is correct, these factors can affect the optionโ€™s price.

My approach is to identify a possible entry, monitor the chart and decide whether the reward justifies the risk. If the opportunity is no longer attractive, I should be prepared to close the trade.

๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’— 5. My BLINK FANS Trading Lesson

This IAU trade reminds me that trading is not always about making a big score. Sometimes, it is about patience, observation and discipline.

I bought at $0.83, sold at $0.90 and secured $7 before fees. I will not pretend that every scalp will work, because losses are part of trading.

My priority is to manage risk, avoid overtrading and never risk too much capital just to earn a small premium.

My BLINK FANS motto: Watch the chart, respect the risk and take profits according to your plan. Small wins can be satisfying, but protecting my capital is always more important than chasing the next trade. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ“ˆ

This is my personal trading journal, not financial advice. Options can expire worthless, and losses can exceed the premium received depending on the strategy.@AI_FocusedTrader @TigerStars

That 77.68 to 78.08 fade was clean for a scalp. The 5 min EMA squeeze mattered more than the $7 win lol
