據俄新社10月2日最新報道，俄羅斯憲法法院認定，頓涅茨克、盧甘斯克、扎波羅熱、赫爾鬆四個地區加入俄羅斯的條約符合俄羅斯聯邦憲法。

另據塔斯社10月2日報道，根據俄憲法法院通過的關於頓涅茨克、盧甘斯克、扎波羅熱、赫爾鬆四個地區加入俄羅斯的文件，頓涅茨克和盧甘斯克是以“共和國”的地位加入俄羅斯，扎波羅熱和赫爾鬆則以“州”的地位加入俄羅斯。
