Getting people to use your so-called "superapp" is trivial when you throw enough money at them, to the extent that every transaction made through the app makes is unprofitable. The difficult part is getting people to continue using your app even when the frankly obscene amount of subsidies are withdrawn.

Grab has never been capable of the second part. It's for this reason that I am extremely skeptical of those who think Grab will ever succeed. Grab's response everytime usage numbers falls is to throw even more money at the problem. They have consistently racked up billions of dollars in losses, and this number only continues to grow ever larger. How can such a company ever be profitable? What happens when the money runs out?

Grab: Building A Super App

SummaryGrab is the largest SPAC that went public last year, with a market cap of around $40 billion.

digital bank is the play. they've won the pioneer lincenses in sg and msia. it's like how wechat built an entire ecosystem within their app. once u have banking license the game changes.

gonna convince you otherwise. again, they dont need to conquer the SEA markets to be a $5 share, which is the point you're missing. you can short the stock, and i'll load it up below $2, let's move on

bankrolled, my bad. based on your logic, all credit cards should offer the same cash rebates - yet that isnt the case. you're just repeating your points and if you fail to see the use case then im not

And I think you mean "bankrolled by sovereign funds". I suppose you are referring to the alleged stake Temasek Holdings had in Grab. I think you are overestimating the impact of such a stake...

Give them a little more time. Many wanted to see Grab successful too.
