Revenue took a $1 billion hit due to Disney paying a penalty for canceling a contract with a partner, due to content that the company decided to air on its own streaming service instead, causing the revenue miss.</p><p>After adjusting for restructuring costs, amortization and other effects, the company reported earnings of $1.08 a share, compared with adjusted earnings of 32 cents a share a year ago.
