    Great resale value of older iPhones helped subsidies cost of new iPhone. It’s a common practice in Asia to keep cycling every 2 or 3 years based on above. Most competitions don’t.

      Phone replacement cycle will at most be even for Apple, that is, users replace their phones as usual during recession and not anything more.

    If we do enter recession, consumers will make sure their product purchase brings them the best value, hence $Apple(AAPL)$ phones will easily weed out the weaker products out there.

    There are multiple perspective to look from. In a recession, the weaker competitors won't be able to survive - Apple buys over their technology or let them exit.
