Canadian O&G stocks

Markets are up ~2% today. WTI$W&T Offshore(WTI)$ up ~2%, NG$Novagold Resources(NG)$ up about 5%. Yet most Canadian O&G stocks, sorry boys and girls we ain't interested! Makes sense!

Serious question! If I am a pension fund looking for a yield for a passive income, why would I invest in O&G stocks if I could get the same yield or even better at much lower risk? A few months ago O&G stocks were very attractive, with rates at 0%. Are they now?

North American Natural Gas Storage Levels for the week ending July 8/2022.
US Natural Gas Storage (bcf) is 12% lower than 5yr avg.
Canada Natural Gas Storage (bcf) is 18% lower than 5yr avg.
