What to do when caught in a bear market with a small account
Economic recessions and stock market collapses are a fact of life. As the COVID-19 outbreak demonstrated, market catastrophe can appear out of nowhere. What matters is how investors respond to that disaster. Do not give up. Do not act hastily to sell into a declining market because of feelings of dread or anxiety. Have enough cash on hand to avoid needing to sell your investments to pay for it.
In such cases, managing cash flow and having a firm grasp of the markets are essential. This is why. No matter how severe the drop, investor portfolios have historically recovered from their value losses. With time, markets start to stabilize and see growth.
My QYLD$NASDAQ 100 Covered Call ETF(QYLD)$ , which I just started purchasing, has been my test subject as a beginner
Lesser lost method :[Miser] [Happy] [Grin] not selling in big drop
My QYLD, which I just started purchasing, has been my test subject. QYLD offers a 12.94% dividend yield and recently paid $2.12 per share. The most recent ex-dividend date was February 21, 2023, and the dividend is paid each month. So it covered around 1.60 of my losses at the $20 purchased at 2022/04 after tax which means my average cost is around 18.40 and I losses around 1.80 or 10%
Great lost if I panicked [Cry] [Spurting]
If I would have panicked and sold at $14 plus I would have lost $6 and also not recovered by the dividends given .
