Why am I sharing my portfolio?

That is a question you may be asking yourself. After all, many people find talking about there personal finances as taboo however whenever other people have shared there portfolios online I have always found it interesting and often motivational to see where I could be going. This is why I too will share how my portfolio progresses month to month.

With my current situation I am working full time with this website as a side project. The site currently is losing money each month however hopefully in the future, this will act as an additional supplement to my portfolio. With that being said, I thought it may also be fair to share my portfolio if some money from this site may eventually end up helping my portfolio grow.

I am also going to say my portfolio is by no means a large portfolio however, it also is a modest amount of money for some people. I don’t want this post to come across as any form of brag. I purely want to share my portfolio in the name of transparency and curiosity. I will also be able to look back on this in many years to come as to whether I have made great decisions… or awful ones.

My Portfolio

So the total value of my portfolio as of May 1st 2023 is £10,539.34, it has been a couple of months since my last portfolio update. The previous update shown was on the February 2023 Portfolio Update. At the time the start of the year had ran up well on my assets resulting in me having £13,665.82 which was up 51.22%. The pullback since then means I am up 23.45% year to date or adjusted for my deposits it would be up 10.75%.

The shares I currently own are all highly speculative growth stocks. You may disagree or agree with my picks and I am open to hearing your thoughts down in the comments below. I am now in my 4th year investing which in the grand scheme of things is a short time so I am open to the fact that my opinions may be flawed and I am happy to be proven wrong, however with my current judgement I am happy with my picks. $Virgin Galactic(SPCE)$ $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ $CRISPR Therapeutics AG(CRSP)$ $Bionano Genomics(BNGO)$

Changes Since The Last Update

In that time since the last update I have progressed some of my holdings further, now owning over 60 shares of Tesla and over 1000 shares of BioNano Genomics as there has been a massive sell of for $Bionano Genomics(BNGO)$ .

I may look into increasing my Virgin Galactic holdings further also as it is expected they will start commercial operations within the next couple of quarters however I feel Virgin Galactic lacks on the side of publicity. Occasional tweets come out showing progress in the right direction but it’s pretty quiet overall. This has resulted in the stock price laying low for an extremely long time and it could still be a while more.

I feel with the fall of my BioNano Genomics stock value I will be more likely to add to this position due to me being able to offset the loss more easily through purchases at this level.
