Recently, a report revealed that Samsung's implementation of ChatGPT resulted in the leak of confidential chip data. It was discovered that an employee, referred to as A, used ChatGPT to search for a code bug, which was related to semiconductor equipment measurement data. Another employee, referred to as B, entered a code segment related to production volume and yield rate recording equipment into ChatGPT to optimize it. Meanwhile, employee C used the AI voice assistant, Naver Clova, to convert his meeting recording into text and then used ChatGPT to summarize the meeting content.

According to OpenAI's data usage instructions, for non-API products like ChatGPT and DALL-E, the platform does use user data to further improve model efficiency. In other words, Samsung's confidential information has already flowed into the ChatGPT database, and there is a risk that it may leak out from ChatGPT again since there has been a bug in the past that caused data leaks.

Samsung is not the only company that has encountered this situation. Cyberhaven, a data analysis company, found that as the application rate of ChatGPT increased, more and more workers uploaded enterprise data to the platform. In just one day (March 14th), an average of 5267 pieces of enterprise data were sent to ChatGPT per 100,000 employees, and 11% of them were sensitive data.
