The Dow industrials were off 2%, or about 647 points. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 2.5%.All 11 of the S&P 500's sectors retreated in broad-based selling, with energy stocks leading the decliners. The two-year Treasury yield dropped Wednesday to 4.628% from 4.672% late Tuesday. The 10-year yield, meanwhile, rose to 4.149% from 4.125%. Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, finished the day down 2.8% to $92.65 a barrel. WTI, its U.S. counterpart, fell 3.5%.In metals, front month gold for November delivery fell 0.1% to finish the day at $1710.10 an ounce. Silver fell 0.8%, while copper advanced about 1%. Today's Headlines Beyond Meat– The plant-based food maker known for its meat alternatives shed nearly 1% following its third-quarter earnings report that showed it posted a wider-than-expected loss, according to StreetAccount. Revenue was slightly higher than anticipated. For the fiscal year, the company reiterated prior net revenue estimates. Beyond Meat also noted it will incur a one-time charge of about $4 million related to the decision made last month to lay off 19% of its workforce. Rivian– Shares of the electric vehicle maker gained 5% after the company reported a smaller per-share loss than expected by analysts polled by Refinitiv. Revenue came in below expectations. The company reaffirmed its full-year production guidance. FICO– Shares of the analytics company jumped 10% after it beat StreetAccount’s expectation for per-share earnings and revenue when reporting fourth-quarter earnings after the bell. The company also said it expects to beat estimates on both for the full year.
