container rates were booming 2021/2022 topping 8000 usd, my capital was 95k HKD and I collected 23k HKD in dividend that works out to be approx 25% yield.
Currently heard from my friend who is in import and export business that recent container rates revised lower.
I believe that container rates was not reflecting the potential geopolitical conflict in Asia pacific where Shanghai was the world busiest port follow by Singapore PSA. The cost of transporting sea freight cargo container was not priced in with higher insurance result in increasing shipping cost.
Another point to note in a post covid recovery taking shape, high demand of transporting commodities driven by higher commodities price led by consumption.
