The index slid 2.4% Friday after a 2.6% gain Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 550.99 points, or 1.9%, to 30185.82, while the Nasdaq Composite jumped 354.41 points, or 3.4%, to 10675.80. The Nasdaq’s strong day was helped by some speculative tech names, with Zoom Video gaining 6% and Chinese internet stocks outperforming. In the bond market, the yield on the 10-year Treasury note edged up to 4.012%, from 4.005% Friday. Yields have risen for 11 consecutive weeks, driven by the Fed’s campaign of interest-rate increases. Some of the biggest U.S. banks reporting last week said they were nervous about a recession, but their third-quarter earnings showed few signs of one yet. Roblox— Roblox shares shot up 19.83% after the online gaming company reported metrics for September that showed stronger engagement than a year ago. Netflix— Netflix’s stock rose 6.57%. Wells Fargo reiterated its equal weight rating on the streaming service ahead of the company’s earnings this week. Last week, Netflix announced it will launch a new ad-supported service for $6.99 a month.
