[Back to the... Future? Past?] This is a good topic for me to do some self reflection as investing principles are just about like a science as it is an art. Back to the Past Life was a lot more simple then. Buy low, sell high. No Unit Trusts, ETFs, Forex, Meme stocks, crypto, e.t.c. You get it. The case against the past is legit. Things don't repeat exactly the same way. And attempting to forecast based on the past is like trying to predict the future based on your childhood likes and dislikes. Past performance, is NEVER a guarantee for future success. The flip argument is equally convincing. History doesn't repeat itself but it certainly rhymes. $Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$  [How to allocate?] Well this must be an important question for many people including myself. So I'd like to share my humble few cents opinion. [Simple dish] Like a bowl of plain porriage, in my early years, I aimed to achieve the simple golden rule. That was, no matter how bad your situation is, attempt to allocate 10% of your nett monthly income. Yes, if you need to eat more plain porriage, or Cai png, you need to. Cos paying yourself fundamentally is so important. Only after self allocation of 10%, do you then allocate the rest into your needs bucket (food, water, lodging, etc) and then the wants bucket. Of course, that is also assuming that you emergency bucket is full. If not, please fill that up to at least 6 month

No effect for me as i am an investor and not a trader. [Great] Paying attention to the market 24 hrs a day might be useful for day traders or people who have expertise in short trades. For me, I will continue to profit from choosing the right investments and sitting on my butt. [Grin][Grin][Grin]

[Positive Guidance? Or Stay Positive?] Forcasting the future for postive earnings for$Microsoft(MSFT)$  or$Alphabet(GOOGL)$  on the short term is about as easy as predicting who will win the next Singaporean Gold medal. And as$Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$  has shown, postive earnings can still translate to market madness and crashing leading to more opportunities for the uninvested. (Not a recommendation).
