🔋🚘$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$  set its 10th 2-Year Low of $108.76 in 10 straight declining sessions🔥🥵🔥 after dropping a further 11.41% on the 1st trading day after the long 🎄 holiday. 🔋🚘 has lost more than half its value since the start of Oct & as detailed in my 27/12 post, the share price of 🔋🚘 is expected to continue declining🫠🫠🫠 Musk’s reassurance to investors that he won’t sell 🔋🚘 shares until at least 2024 last Thu (22/12) didn’t help in stabilising the stock❗️

Why Musk’s Assurance Isn’t Working❓

(1) 🔋🚘 stock is facing a "perfect storm" of high-interest rates, tax loss selling & share sales by some funds that hold a significant amount of its stock🙈🙈🙈

‼️ Tax loss selling is when an investor sells an asset at a capital loss to lower or eliminate the capital gain realised by other investments, for income tax purposes.

(2) 🔋🚘 was reported to run a reduced production schedule in Jan at its Shanghai plant sparked worries of a drop🙉🙉🙉

(3) Prices of used 🔋🚘TSLAs are falling faster than those of other carmakers, weighing on demand for 🔋🚘's new vehicles🙊🙊🙊

⚠️ The overall used car market posted a 4% drop from July-Nov but the average price for a used 🔋🚘 was down 17% from a July peak ($67,297 ➡️ $55,754).

⚠️ Used 🔋🚘 were in dealer inventory for 50 days on average in Nov, compared with 38 days for all used cars.
