In this episode, we will introduce some highly praised features divided into four parts: Quotes module, Portfolio module, trading functions, and comprehensive features
Quotes Module
The quotes module serves as the first window for browsing stock price information and discovering trading opportunities. What are some useful features in this module? Let's see what users say!
1. Real-time Market Data
The real-time market information provided by Tiger is highly appreciated by many users! (In the top right corner of the stocks quotes page, you can also manually drag and rearrange the order of various markets)
@Zeniv: I find the quotes and portfolio function are useful, as it provides real-time stock prices which helps us in monitoring stock prices. >> original post
@schipperde: It's easy to use. The trend line and real time price is very useful >> original post
2. Display and Settings of the [Quotes] Module
@highhand: Under the Quote function, I only use Watchlist tab for all my favourite stocks. Sorting by Chg% and Name Code is most commonly used to filter stocks for options trade or stock purchase for the day. Clear price comparison for pre/post vs regular trading hours which might indicate major news affecting the markets/stocks across the day. >> original post
In addition, in the 'Settings' tab located in the top left corner, you also have more choices for the display!
3. [Discover] Submodule in the [Quotes]
Within the quotes module, there is a 'Discover' submodule that also houses many useful features
@Papa Bear: ...Oh boy was I surprised at some of the unique features that I think would have been a paid service for other platforms but available on Tiger app for free! Haha certainly did take my time to browse through the economic data, and earnings calendar provided! ... I am now tinkering with the candlestick technical selector to find trading opportunities. Seems like there is a potential for candlestick pattern analysts like me to use it for trading decisions. >>original post
You can find the mentioned features in the following locations:
Earnings Calendar: [Quotes] - [Discover] - [Calendar]. You can also filter them based on your watchlist, region, and importance level!
Economic Data: [Quotes] - [Discover] - [Opportunity]. Non-farm data, CPI data... All the latest important macroeconomic data can be found here!
Candlestick Technical selector: [Quotes] - [Discover] - [Opportunity]. If you are a trader who enjoys technical analysis, don't miss out on this feature!
The mentioned features above are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the functionality of our app. Under the [Discover] module, there are even more features awaiting your exploration!
4. Individual Stock Quote Page
On the specific quote page of each stock, there are many useful features hidden! Let's take a look at what Tiger users have to share!
(1) "Alerts" feature
@kungpao: One feature that I like the most is "ALERT" since I can set some parameters, like for example if a stock that I watch hits X level and the apps will automatically tell me. Then I can execute my plan. >>original post
(2) Display of information for each stock/ETF and the “stock analysis”
In the stock quotes section, you can easily view information such as dividend yield, price-to-earnings ratio, and more. In the ETF quotes section, the “profile” page allows you to see the constituents of the ETF at a glance.
@DreamingMoor: I do like the detailed analysis of the graphs and stuff. You can also see the dividend yield and the P/E ratio of the stock or the ETF you’re interested in. That's always useful to know. And then for the ETF, you can check the profile usually, and you can see the different companies that make up the ETF. So that's always useful. >>original article
@kevlarn: What I find quite useful is a chart in the analysis tab that gives a breakdown of whether a company is overvalued or undervalued, segmenting the stock price into 3 colour coded bands. >>original article
Portfolio Module
After discussing the quotes module, let's talk about the portfolio module. What hidden treasure features are there?
1. Liquidity Alert Feature
@AllRise: I like the overnight liquidity function in the app. When I go to sleep, I can check this function and it offers a good overview of if my position will be liquidated overnight. >>original article
2. Display and Settings of Portfolio/Order Page
The holdings of different markets are displayed separately, providing a clear and convenient user interface. Clicking on a specific stock in the portfolio or order area will bring up quick actions such as buying, selling, viewing quotes, sharing holdings, and modifying orders.
@highhand: US and SG markets are clearly separated in the portfolio. Obviously good… Under "Today's order", it is easy to modify orders on the fly, which I use frequently to modify trading price. >>original post
Trading Functions
Speaking of trading, what are the positive feedback from Tiger users? What are some noteworthy features?
1. Low fees and support for pre/post-market trading in US stocks
Click to see our full pricing details >>
and how we compare against other platforms>>
@xFooFoo: My friends told me that Tiger Broker has the lowest transaction fees, and also offer pre-market and aftermarket trading, which other platforms didn't offer, it's a really good thing that other competitors may not have. >>original article
@mtila: Tiger Trade app has a lot of information and helps me with the trades and the spread, number of buyers and seller. One more thing is that with Tiger Brokers I can trade on pre and post market and this provides more liquidity and provides opportunities before the market opens >>original article
@highhand: I realized not all trading platforms can trade post market hours too, but Tiger has this option by selecting "Fill outside regular trading hours (RTH)". Kudos to Tiger. >>original post
2. Wide range of products and markets available for trading
@HLPA: It is so easy to place a trade or revise your placed trades on the SG, HK, Aust and China markets in an instant. Tiger is the best platform I have used so far. >>original post
@SPOT_ON: Tiger app is pretty easy to use and can trade in so many markets in the world.. the fees are cheap and there are stock vouchers to be won and exchanged. >>original post
3. US fractional shares and auto-investing are available
You can buy fractional shares with as little as 0.00001, and with auto-invest, you can begin investing in highly-priced companies with just 1 USD! Still hesitating? Check the experiences of Tiger users to learn more!
@boardy: I am keen to get going with this feature so its a simple set and forget for many small amounts. This will work really well now fractional shares are in play to suit my budget. >>original post
@pekss: What I particularly like about the Auto-Invest feature is the low entry barrier with minimum investment amount of mere USD5(Note: The minimum investment threshold has now been lowered to 1 USD!) and the ability to acquire fractional shares of highly priced stocks. >>original post
Comprehensive Features
1. PRO and LITE modes
@Vjy: Thanks to Tigertrade technical team. After recent application upgrade, allows us to set trade page as PRO mode which makes stock buy and sell very fast and easy. >>orignial post
@Ultrahisham: . The trading function, in my opinion makes it easy to trade for investors of all levels.
Those who likes it super simple can choose the lite option which makes it hassle free and frees most of the technical jargon and is very suitable for those who wants to just invest per se and not interested in the hustle bustle of trading or 'stinging for the best price'.
Those who likes to trade or 'haggle for the best price' would like to go pro so as to see more details like depth as well as have the choice for more sophisticated trading options so as to implement strategies such as 'stops' etc.
Yes there are many trading apps that may offer similar or even more sophisticated options but in terms of practicality and sufficiency, I think the Tiger app offers one of the best in the industry. >>original post
2. PC version and multi-device login
@amroui: Very thankful for the recent enhancement to allow multiple concurrent device log in! This allow us to use both desktop and mobile at the same time! >>original post
@JonDP: The app has a lot of data and the desktop version is even better. I would recommend people try the desktop version for the data it has. >>original post
Alright, these are the highly praised features selected for you! There are still many more features on Tiger Trade App waiting for you to explore and discover!
