As $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ 21% yesterday, Elon Musk’s personal wealth surged by $33.5 billion in a single day, further solidifying his position as the world’s richest person. Musk's net worth now totals $270.3 billion, followed by Larrt Ellison from $Oracle(ORCL)$, Jeff Bezos from $Amazon.com(AMZN)$, and Mark Zuckerberg from $Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$.
What do you think about the relationship between money and happiness? Has Musk’s wealth made his life less stressful?
Some people say that money can solve 90% of the world’s problems. For most people, earning enough money is an important life goal.
But there are also many wealthy individuals who experience a higher threshold for happiness after achieving financial freedom, sometimes leading to depression. Perhaps, after money solves 90% of problems, the remaining 10% becomes unsolvable.
A discussion on a Chinese forum is popular:
would you choose to travel into an adventure novel, or receive enough money to achieve financial freedom?
Some said they’d pick the adventure novel because what many envy about the wealthy is their exciting lives. So, jumping into an adventure would be the best way to lead an interesting life.
Which would you choose?
Do you think there’s an essential link between money and happiness?
What activities bring you the most happiness?

While wealth can help, it doesn't guarantee happiness. Many rich individuals still face challenges that money can’t solve, like loneliness or existential concerns.
Given the choice between traveling into an adventure novel or achieving financial freedom, I’d choose financial freedom. It provides peace of mind and the opportunity to create my own adventures, whether through travel or hobbies.
Ultimately, happiness comes from a balance—having enough money to reduce stress while seeking meaningful experiences and connections. The activities that bring me the most joy are those that foster relationships and personal growth.

It was in 2021 that I found the answer to my long searching question. It is not money but be the light for your family members.I was with my brother before and after his brain surgery. This incident happened during Covid period. He was very happy to see that I honoured my word - I will be the first family member that he sees when he opened his eyes. The joy of seeing him out of OT safely was the best birthday present of my life. The ops took place on my birthday eve.
To others, hospital is the most dangerous place during Covid period.Apparently, God has been taking very good care of me that I m free from getting Covid.I even joked with friends that hospital is my monthly affair playground.
I’m a simple person. Spending quality time with my family which can be as simple as watching television and talking about our day brings me happiness. Not forgetting travels too (usually with family)!
