On Monday, Berkshire Hathaway announced that its chairman, Buffett, made a "Thanksgiving donation" valued at approximately $1.14 billion.
Since pledging in 2006 to give away most of his wealth, Buffett has donated 56.6% of his Berkshire holdings.
Currently, Buffett still owns about 37.6% of Berkshire's Class A shares. According to Forbes, Buffett's net worth stands at $150 billion, making him the sixth richest person in the world.

Buffett emphasized how wealthy families should approach “giving money to children”: children should be left with enough wealth to do something significant but not so much that they end up doing nothing at all.
Buffett revealed that after his wife Susan passed away in 2004, her estate, valued at around $3 billion, saw 96% donated to their joint foundation, with an additional $10 million given to each of their three children. This was also the first time his children received a significant gift from their parents.
Upon his death, Buffett’s three children will be fully responsible for gradually distributing all his remaining Berkshire shares, which currently account for 99.5% of his total wealth.
Finally, Buffett expressed pride and gratitude toward his three children, praising them for spending more time directly helping others than he ever did.
As ordinary people, we may not be able to donate vast fortunes like Buffett, but we can still lend a helping hand in our daily lives.
