U.S. stocks advanced for the week, with small-cap indexes outperforming large-caps. The S&P 500's gains were led by information technology and energy sectors, while utilities and consumer staples declined.
September's inflation data, delayed by the government shutdown, showed both headline and core inflation at 3.0%, slightly below estimates. Business activity accelerated in October, with S&P Global's composite PMI rising to 54.8, marking 33 consecutive months of expansion. Services PMI reached a three-month high of 55.2, while manufacturing PMI improved slightly to 52.2.

Its momentum isn’t just market hype — the company’s earnings outlook is strengthening as inventories normalize and high-margin AI memory products gain traction. These factors could keep driving valuations higher in the coming quarters. The market’s confidence in Micron reflects growing belief that the memory cycle has fully turned upward. I’ll be watching for any pullbacks as buying opportunities.
Among chipmakers, Micron remains my top pick for the week. As long as overall market sentiment stays positive, I expect MU to hold its leadership & possibly extend its rally further.

Short-term catalysts include possible enterprise AI partnerships and further demand updates from hyperscalers. However, valuations are rich, so any mild disappointment could trigger profit-taking.
Overall, AMD combines solid fundamentals, accelerating AI exposure, and positive sentiment—making it the U.S. stock I’m most optimistic about this week.
