Too Powerful” AI? Weak Logic Drives Cybersecurity Selloff

Today I saw the funniest logic, people are saying that Anthropic’s next-gen model leak caused cybersecurity stocks to drop because it’s “too powerful” and poses safety risks.

$Palo Alto Networks(PANW)$

$CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc.(CRWD)$

$NVIDIA(NVDA)$

That’s honestly one of the dumbest explanations I’ve ever heard.

If AI is really that dangerous, wouldn’t cybersecurity be even more important?

A more reasonable explanation, in my view, would be something like:

“If Anthropic’s models are powerful enough to create security risks, then they’re also powerful enough to identify and fix those risks.”

Or alternatively:

“If cybersecurity firms get breached, it could lead to liability issues or force them into massive additional development costs to keep up.”

Right now, the market seems to be interpreting almost every piece of news negatively. The sentiment is clearly risk-off — it just wants to go down 🤡

Honestly, I don’t get it. Feels like people are just looking for any excuse to sell.

Once liquidity tightens, suddenly all kinds of “ghost stories” start appearing in the market.
