SpaceX has pulled back to its lowest price since the IPO, and I decided to start accumulating a small position. This isn't one of my core holdings, nor am I betting the farm on it. Think of it as a "meme trade" with asymmetric upside—a small allocation that could deliver outsized returns if the long-term thesis plays out.
The biggest reason is simple: I believe in Elon Musk's ability to execute ambitious visions. Whether it's Tesla transforming the EV industry or SpaceX revolutionizing reusable rockets, he has repeatedly proven that he can achieve what many once considered impossible. Starlink continues to expand globally, Starship is making steady progress, and the company's leadership in the commercial space industry remains unmatched.
That said, I'm fully aware of the risks. SpaceX is still a high-growth company with an ambitious roadmap, and expectations are incredibly high. This is exactly why I'm keeping the position relatively small compared to my larger investments like semiconductors and AI. It adds some excitement to my portfolio without taking on excessive risk.
Sometimes investing isn't just about chasing certainty—it's about taking calculated shots on extraordinary companies when sentiment is weak. If SpaceX continues executing over the next decade, today's price may eventually look like a bargain. If not, the limited position size ensures the downside remains manageable. Risk first, conviction second, and patience always.
