I have come here especially to buy mooncake to take back to Australia. The traditional teochew yam paste mooncake from Crown Hotel has been shifted over here.
Took me a while to find the hotel - Amara. I was basically walking passed the entrance without realisation!
Ended up having lunch here as well. I was not too hungry, and they offer dim sum lunch, which suits my current lack in appetite.
Had a balanced diet, a porridge (abalone anyone?), beancurd rolls and siu mai, washed down with a fine pot of Chinese tea.
Oh... I forgot its free starter, a guava with dried orange peel! Totally gently sweet and refreshing...
It's not your normal dim sum... a classy one. Oh... Let's forget the price for this nice meal 😜 Let's just say the service and ambience makes up for it to give the meal a satisfying end.
I concluded the meal with a traditional teochew yum paste dessert.
Elegant is definitely the right feel...
The overall market didn't do too badly in the overnight US trading session. It's just not too good for my positioning... Gold and especially silver corrected, so did some of those rare earth miners and other recent market darlings. It was not a pretty sight...
August has been an interesting month so far for my portfolio in 🐯. One last trading session to go next Monday to conclude the month. I may not have a winning session last night, but it has been a good month for precious metals group and base metals especially copper. With US ever-increasing fiscal debt, and increasing central banks' gold purchases over the years, the latest gold price ramp has created a new resistance line around $4390 to add to the previous $4000 stronghold.
Add to that are the numerous other precious metals and base metal (now known as critical minerals - copper for this example) uptrends confirmed that the gold and silver runs are not isolated and their runs are still in early days...
Celebrating our winnings with delicious food is a good way of rewarding ourselves. Losing a tradinpg session doesn't make a trading loss.
