Warren Buffett’s insights: make money with little risk

Another year's Berkshire Hathaway shareholder meeting, with Cook and Gates seen sitting in the audience. The moment when Buffett mistakenly called out "Charlie" was somewhat poignant. In the latest Berkshire Q1 holdings, approximately 75% of the fair value of its portfolio remains concentrated in American Express, Apple, Bank of America, Chevron, and Coca-Cola.It's worth noting that Berkshire Q1 still remained a net seller, with cash reserves reaching new highs. In Q1, Berkshire sold nearly $20 billion worth of stocks while only purchasing $2.7 billion, leading its portfolio value to decline from $354 billion at the end of last year to $336 billion.Although Apple remains Berkshire's largest holding, its stake value dropped from $174 billion at the end of last year to $135.4 billion. As of
Warren Buffett’s insights: make money with little risk
For Berkshire to continue increasing its operating earnings, its subsidiaries must achieve this since the parent company primarily serves as a capital asset allocator and has no real operations. Thus, Buffett’s economic goal is directly applicable to his investment selection criteria; he seeks steady growth in operating earnings. To identify stocks that align with Buffett’s investment criteria, I screened for companies that have demonstrated a positive operating earnings compound annual growth rate (CAGR) and a negative shares outstanding CAGR over the past ten years. I then calculated a combined value by subtracting the shares outstanding CAGR from the operating earnings CAGR. I ranked these values from highest to lowest and selected those with minimally 10% in combined value. philosophy

In a brilliant farewell gesture coinciding with his final board meeting on the 4th of May, Warren Buffett's investment in Apple witnessed a remarkable surge, adding an impressive $10 billion to Berkshire Hathaway's coffers. With holdings of 905.6 million shares in the tech giant, Buffett's strategic vision continues to underscore the enduring value of this investment. Yesterday's closing valuation of $156.7 billion soared to a staggering $166.1 billion by the close of today's trading session, showcasing Buffett's steadfast commitment and foresight in navigating the market. The force truly seemed to be with Buffett today, prompting one to wonder if he, too, is a Star Wars aficionado! That's The question I would ask him.  Surge in Apple shares, hmmmmm. Strong the force is with Buffett o

Dear Mr Buffett  You are an inspiration to millions of investors around the world.  To me you are the Father of Value Investing.  My questions to you are : 1.  If you can turn back time, would you have changed any of your major investments decisions? 2.  How would you advise a small investor like me to grow my portfolio so that I can reach my goal of FIRE - Financial Independence Retire Early? 3.  What are the most important traits to cultivate to be a successful investor? 4.  Will you be making any major changes in your portfolio allocation for 2024?  If so, why? 5.  What do you think are the challenges facing Berkshire Hathaway in 2024? 6.  When do you think the Feds will cut interest rates?  Will it be soon or towards the end of 202
$Berkshire Hathaway(BRK.B)$  Berkshire Hathaway’s cash pile reached a new all-time high of $189 BILLION in Q1 2024. This is a $19 billion increase from their cash balance seen in Q4 2023, and a 70% increase in cash since 2022. To put this in perspective, Berkshire Hathaway’s cash balance is larger than the market cap of Starbucks and Target combined. When asked about this, Warren Buffet said "I don’t mind at all, given current conditions, building our cash position." Why is Buffett holding so much cash? Buffett said that in the current climate, he’s more than happy holding cash. Sometimes, no investment is the best investment. With money market funds paying 5%, capital is piling up on the sidelines.

This year, during the shareholder event of $Berkshire Hathaway(BRK.A)$ , Buffett appeared for the first time without his longtime business partner and friend Charlie Munger [Cry]  [Cry]  [Cry]   As we all know, Buffett's remarkable achievements today are inseparable from his long-standing investment principles. Buffett invests in great businesses trading for less than their intrinsic values, and then he holds the investments for as long as they remain great businesses. Secondly, he believes in Quality over Quantity: He avoids struggling businesses, preferring wonderful companies at fair prices. Moreover, Buffett emphasizes independence from market trends, advocating for a long-term, con
I think it's heart breaking [Cry] [Cry] [Cry] we won't be seeing the two legendary Uncles. Uncle Munger no longer around and Uncle Buffett kinda like taking a step back... good for him though... S&P 500 Total Market Cap continues to decline after hitting a peak on the 1st of April. The S&P 500 Total Market Cap has lost $2.4 Trillion in value since the start of April, making April the largest decline since July '23, when $AAPL lead the market to a market decline for Wave 4. Market is still showing more decline needed to return to its fair value in line with Total Revenue.
Buffett is a fundamentally driven investor. He is consistently ahead of the market He caught the decline from December and reduced his $AAPL exposure for the second quarter in a row. We reduced our biggest position in $AMZN and he’s done the same with $AAPL and we both increased our cash positions substantially. Buffett is not listening to bias views, he does his own work, takes action and strictly keeps to his strategy. Take the lesson

Is this the last year Warren Buffett chairing Berkshire Hathaway’s Annual General Meeting. I would like to see the company announcing good tesults. Also looking forward to the new successor properly presenting a good accolade to Charlie Munger and Warren Buffett.

Wish I could attend the Berkshire Hathaway AGM. This Omaha, Nebraska event gives us a chance to hear from the legendry Warren Buffett. This 95 year old Capitalist is my idol. Let’s see how new Vice Chairman Greg Abel and Ajit Jain perform.
$Berkshire Hathaway(BRK.B)$  *BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY 1Q OPER INCOME $11.22B, +32% Q/Q *BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY 1Q OPER EARNINGS $11.2 BLN VS $8.07 BLN They just smashed their Earnings Report They are the only company with a PE below 10 out of all the Mega Caps in the S&P 500 right now.
I would ask Mr. Buffett: "Mr. Buffett, reflecting on your illustrious career, what single investment decision or strategy do you believe had the most profound impact on Berkshire Hathaway's success, and what key takeaway can investors glean from it?"
