Invest in the stock market is a long term investment, it is important to acknowledge that profits are never guaranteed. While many times the market trends upward, there will always be periods when things don't go as expected. Such challenges are an inherent part of stock investing. For example, one of the darkest moments in investing can be having witnessing a company go bankrupt. This situation can be emotionally taxing, but they are part of the risk investors must be willing to accept. That's why I only invest money I can afford to lose, ensuring that any downturn doesn't jeopardize my financial stability. In addition to that, I focus on diversification—spreading investments across different sectors and asset classes. This helps to reduce the impact of any single investment underperformi

I endured a prolonged period of darkness that spanned nearly a decade, a journey so personal I prefer not to share. Yet, within that darkness, I discovered resilience. I reframed my perspective, embracing the truth that dawn follows darkness and change is inevitable. I released crippling beliefs and sought validation from within, surrounded by loved ones & friends who offered support. Through gratitude & selfless service, I found purpose. This transformative experience taught me that overcoming life's darkest moments demands patience, self-compassion, & intentional action. By shifting our mindset, releasing limitations, seeking support, practicing gratitude, & taking purposeful steps, we can emerge stronger, wiser, and more resilient. My journey has shown me that even in th

Have I ever faced a darkest moment? Yes, obviously, given my age and the ups and downs of life. But when I reflect on my journey, a more recent moment stands out – one that I encountered in investing. It's the time I made the decision not to sell my TLT ETF when it crossed $100 per share. Fast forward to today, and it's now hovering around $90, which can be a little disheartening. At first, I felt a pang of regret, thinking about the opportunity I missed to realize a profit. It's easy to get caught up in the 'what-ifs,' especially when you see the market fluctuating and realize you could have capitalized on that swing. But then, I remind myself that trading isn't just about catching the highs; it's also about managing risk and having a long-term perspective. I look on the bright side o

My darkest moment? Oh, it happened in a hotel overseas (no, I'm not naming names). The electricity went out for a couple of hours. It was like being transported into a Victorian novel, except without the charm—just me, a candle, and the creeping dread that I'd have to "talk to myself" for the next few hours.

typically darkest moments come when one least expects it. it could be the lost of loved one, a health issue, or a financial disaster. I can only say to stay strong, have support around you and think positive.

On a less personal but still 'dark moment' was when I sold a bunch of shares on auto sell and GTC, that I had set up in the middle of the night (!) I realised i had transposed numbers in the wrong spot when it sold on dip, turning a steady profit into a total loss. cringe.

I think everyone has moments when things feel especially hard or dark. I have a good understanding of how overwhelming those times can feel for people. In those tough times, it can feel like nothing will get better, and you’re all alone with the weight of your experience. I believe that people are incredibly resilient. Often, even in the darkest times, there’s something—a tiny light, a kind word, a memory, or a person—that can be a lifeline. It might not make everything feel instantly better, but it can help people hold on and take the next step, even if it’s a small one. [Smile]
