Semiconductor shares gained in morning trading.

ASML rose 4%; Nvidia, Qualcomm, STM rose more than 3%; AMD, Arm, Broadcom rose over 2%.

Piper Sandler analyst Harsh Kumar is upbeat about Nvidia Corp.'s potential to post another blockbuster revenue total ahead of Wall Street's high expectations.

"In our bull scenario, we continue to see Nvidia positioned to show a $2B+ beat for the reported July-quarter revenue, also aided by a bounce in networking supply," Kumar wrote in a note to clients Monday.
