Sea Shares Fell 13% in Morning Trading

Tiger Newspress2022-02-14

Sea shares fell 13% in morning trading.

The government of India banned its Garena Free Fire game for download owing to security concerns of the game's code. Free Fire accounts for some 10% of Sea's gaming revenue according to some estimates, but gaming in general - and the optimistic assumptions built into its further growth - have been a key part of Sea's valuation.

Interesting. The Indian government is taking on non-Chinese companies who may be linked to other Chinese companies.

Will other countries start banning this too? Ban from India is uncommon? If other countries ban too, then $Sea Ltd(SE)$will drop into the deep ocean. This is the arm that generates revenue to fund the losses from its ecommmerce arm...

Another headwind for SEA as the Indian government prohibit users to download one of their games. Hopefully things will get better soon for SEA. 🤔
