    Good points. Another consideration is build long holding power. Need to be prepared in market takes a few years to recover.  Had happened before.

    Lots of common sense here. I can only agree, except perhaps for the cash-vs-reinvestment plan part.It makes sense to cash out dividens if you are willing to spend time to trade/retrade but for other investors who seek for long-term investment, a DRIP (Dividend ReInvestment Plan) can be valuable.

    To stay invested is better than holding on to cash. Having said that, if the current trend is bearish and uncertain, then do your homework, identify the stocks that you are sure that you want to invest and invest at the right entry point. This is how I will do so, marrying fundamental analysis with technical analysis.
