$Robinhood(HOOD)$ If anyone's frustrated about Robinhood being down for a bit, that was actually on $Amazon.com(AMZN)$  — their servers were the ones that went down.

$Amazon.com(AMZN)$ Already seeing the reaction. This company is going through its next wave of growth. It gets hit with a fine and the buying continues.

$Amazon.com(AMZN)$ Low volume dumping over a FUD article. It looks like there's an effort to push the price down before a rally.

$Alibaba(BABA)$ BABA got some positive but mostly worthless news. The CEO received honors. New data centers are opening in South America. NVDA is supporting hardware for Qwen software. And yet the stock dropped over 4.5 points on a green US market and a 150 red Hang Seng. Doesn't get much more manipulated than this.

$Alibaba(BABA)$ I'd rather use a broker that allows buying Hong Kong listed shares directly. Not really a fan of ADRs, and the current tensions with China make me a bit uneasy. Still like the stock though.

$Alibaba(BABA)$ I think BABA made a smart move raising money through shares instead of debt, especially while other AI companies are borrowing trillions. BABA comes out ahead here.

$Alibaba(BABA)$ No sanctions, stimulus on the way, Jack Ma's buying, and Michael Burry's shorting... if that's not a catalyst, I don't know what is. Also, Dumbito is posting nonstop.

$Alibaba(BABA)$ The offering was priced at 112.5 and came in oversubscribed, which points to strong support and gives the stock a solid price floor. That was already priced in Friday. If anything else positive gets announced, it could gap up Monday. The market can be very unpredictable, though.

Earnings season is pretty much wrapped up. With about 90% of S&P 500 companies having reported, Q2 earnings are coming in a lot stronger than expected. Excluding the investment gains from $Alphabet(GOOGL)$  and $Amazon.com(AMZN)$ , EPS growth is tracking around +30% YoY, compared to the ~22% estimate from July 1. Include those gains, and growth approaches +50%. On top of that, 76% of companies have beaten EPS estimates, which matches last quarter's strongest beat rate since 2021. The earnings backdrop looks stronger than the headlines suggest.
