MicroStrategy's High-Interest Bitcoin Bet Dilutes Shareholders
$MicroStrategy(MSTR)$MicroStrategy raising $42B to buy bitcoin. Well, that's why they aren't going to see a regular bank. Their credit rating is oscillating between CCC and B, that shit is deep in the junk category, which means they're too risky for most banks and that they're borrowing money at super high interest rates.Since they try and keep low coupon rates, they're banking on the high implied volatility of the stock by issuing close to the money convertibles. Here's a recent example :September 18, 2024 — MicroStrategy® Incorporated (Nasdaq: MSTR) (“MicroStrategy”) today announced the pricing of its offering of $875 million aggregate principal amount of 0.625% convertible senior notes due 2028 (the “notes”).The conver
$Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$Cant wait till earnings. Up up and away. The next few years will be impressive as well. Innovation and investment will pay dividends to patient long owners of this great company.
$Invesco QQQ(QQQ)$I personally think QQQ is a silly product. People say it provides a "tech lean" but it really doesn't, it just provides a "Nasdaq lean" which I see no reason that you'd actually want that. If you want a tech lean, buy VGT $Vanguard Information Technology ETF(VGT)$ . If you want a growth lean, SCHG $Schwab U.S. Large-Cap Growth ETF(SCHG)$ is good as you suggested.I wouldn't go for either of those though. I'd personally recommend a value lean (SCHD $Schwab US Dividend Equity ETF(SCHD)$ sort of accidentally provides that) and a small cap lean. Something like VBR
$Coinbase Global, Inc.(COIN)$Glad I sold Friday at 217.50. I Sold half position. Before the peak and buy back some on each drop. Will buy back max. half of the half. I’ll get back in once it starts going up again probably around 185-190. Could go lower, but I doubt it. Lets See how deep goes side by side with BTC before next leg up.
$Direxion Daily Semiconductors Bull 3x Shares(SOXL)$INTEL $Intel(INTC)$ and TSML $Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing(TSM)$ are dragging this ETF down like mad.I really don’t think it will be a good holding for a while due to those and the extreme concentration and massive leverage. I want out but my cost basis is $47.Been selling long dated covered calls on it after a big green day or 2. It inevitably dumps the next day or two and I can make about $150-$250 per contract.Growing that cash pile to DCA after the election and i should be able to get out at break even or slightly above. It was never one I would have held more than a week befo
$Apple(AAPL)$Insane that Apple stock is now at $236 with flat to declining growth. Worth $3.5 trillion, hard to grow much more and with stagnating top line growth its going to get harder and harder to justify this valuation. P/E of 35, don't see how they double earnings per share if the growth story is over.
$Alphabet(GOOG)$I would argue that a breakup of Alphabet might be good for shareholders. As long as people keep using Google as their default search engine, the ads business will be fine - maybe they lose some efficiency by not holding every side of the auction. And then you might get businesses spun out that would earn higher margins and do great things for more clients.
$Versus Systems Inc.(VS)$This movement can be part of a strategy to scare small investors or short-term traders. This sometimes happens when big investors (or those known as “whales”) push the price down temporarily to scare smaller investors into giving up their shares, and then those stocks are bought at lower prices before the price goes up again.
$Bright Minds Biosciences Inc(DRUG)$Of course this is scheduled stock manipulation. Who is behind it? Who knows. If FEC would be what they say they are they can trace it by IP buying in big chunks. But they will not bother. This starts to be common and problem I have with it is simple. You can't trust small cap companies without volume.
$NVIDIA Corp(NVDA)$Simple process of reasoning:Is AI real or hype? Real for sure. This year's Nobel prizes both in physics and chemistry are AI related.Who is the king of AI? NvidiaWhere to invest? It's obvious.
