Does it mean thar the Shopee delivery is also established now that Shopee doesn't mind competition because it knows the Shopee delivery service is faster and cheaper?
$Sea Ltd(SE)$ Lazada retrenched all it's chief marketing officers in it's markets? That's as good as punishing them for not gaining market share and forgoing to be number 1 in the region. Save the money on subsidies? Shopee should capitalise on this and roll out campaigns targeting localised products by local merchants and artisans.
$Sea Ltd(SE)$ It's a bit stupid to say now, but if 1.5B can get 75% stake in Tokopedia, SE should have done that instead of Tik Tok since SE has 3.2B cash. Imagine owning 40%+40% of Indonesia market. SE could have bought over Tokopedia easily If authorities allow.
$Sea Ltd(SE)$ TikTok spends 800 plus million to buy 75% stake in Tokopedia, so Tokopedia only worth 1.1B? Tokopedia is still operating cash flow negative, it probably running out cash soon to need that 1.5B injection from Tik Tok. Shopee is operating cash flow positive, with 3.2B in cash, so see if it can maintain market share while still being operating cash flow positive.

$Sea Ltd(SE)$ you see, that is the problem. Housewife selling products on Tiktok does not pay tax or pay rental. The products have lower prices from low overhead costs. Then the physical shops that actually pay rental and taxes close shop. Then how does million of home based unregistered sellers earn taxes for the government? https://asia.nikkei.com/Politics/Indonesia-s-ban-on-social-media-e-commerce-worries-sellers?utm_campaign=IC_asia_daily_free&utm_medium=email&utm_source=NA_newsletter&utm_content=article_link&del_type=1&pub_date=20231004123000&seq_num=3&si=e55f879c-66f1-486e-a04e-9698d8c82876
$Sea Ltd(SE)$ i think SE should create a website for people to source for OEM manufacturers in Southeast Asia similar to Alibaba.com for China so that foreign companies can outsource manufacturing to Southeast Asian countries since they are derisking from China. Many items are now manufactured in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Philippines for sale globally
