Crypto miner Marathon Digital achieved record bitcoin production of 1,853 BTC in December 2023, up 56% from November 2023 and 290% year-over-year. Hash rate growth and continued efficiency gains helped grow average operational hash rate by 18% M/M to 22.4 EH/s that led to record bitcoin production in the month. Marathon's chairman and CEO Fred Thiel said: "We continue to target 30% growth in energized hash rate in 2024 and with the recently announced acquisition of the two sites from Generate Capital, which is expected to close in January 2024, we expect to reach 50 exahashes in the next 18 to 24 months."
