This October feels different, and the stage is set for the stock market to hit new highs. With the Federal Reserve having already cut interest rates and the US election looming on the horizon, key factors are aligning in favor of a bullish run. The Fed’s decision to cut rates is giving the market a much-needed boost. Lower borrowing costs mean companies can invest more in growth and expansion, which is often reflected in rising stock prices. Additionally, with lower interest rates, stocks become more attractive compared to bonds, drawing in more investors and potentially driving up stock valuations. With the US election just around the corner, markets are preparing for potential shifts in policy, but historically, the period leading up to elections has often been positive for stocks. As ca

If there’s one thing I wish I had started earlier, it’s investing. So, when it comes to my child, I’m determined to introduce them to the world of investing at an early age.  Why? Because time is the most powerful asset for any investor. The earlier you start, the more time you have to let your money compound, and the more opportunities you have to learn from mistakes. One of the first lessons I want to teach my child is the magic of compound interest. By investing small amounts consistently, their money can grow exponentially over time. If they can learn this early, they’ll understand the value of patience and how time can be their biggest ally in building wealth. Starting early also means they have more room to make mistakes, which is a crucial part of becoming a smart investor. It’

In stock trading, mistakes are common, even for seasoned investors. Selling puts can be a great strategy in a stable market, but timing is everything. In my case, I underestimated the risk of a sudden downturn. Always assess broader market conditions before selling puts, as you could be assigned stocks in a falling market, as I was. One classic mistake is failing to set stop-loss orders to protect against steep losses. It’s easy to get attached to a stock and hope it will rebound, but having a stop-loss in place ensures you minimize potential damage if things go south. Emotional trading is another pitfall. Panic selling after a news event or market dip often leads to locking in unnecessary losses. Keeping a cool head and sticking to a plan is crucial. Mistakes are part of the learning proc

The Federal Reserve just announced a 50 basis point (bps) rate cut, and I’m feeling optimistic about the stock market’s future. This move signals the Fed’s commitment to supporting economic growth, and it’s great news for investors. A 50bps cut means lower borrowing costs for businesses, which can spur investments, expansion, and hiring. When companies can borrow at cheaper rates, they tend to invest more in growth, driving up profits and, ultimately, stock prices. Additionally, lower rates make bonds less attractive, so more money could flow into stocks, pushing prices higher. We’ve already seen strong market momentum in recent months, and this rate cut could be the fuel to keep things going. Lower rates also tend to boost consumer spending, which benefits companies across sectors. With t

Given that Fed has been dragging this cut for a long time, >2 years already. I would expect them to start slow with a 25 bps cut although the market is hoping for 50 bps move.  Not sure if the market has already priced in this 50 bps cut, if so, a 25 bps cut would not impact the stock market at all

$S&P 500(.SPX)$   Several factors are aligning to create a favorable environment for stocks, with the expected Fed rate cuts and ongoing momentum in the markets as main drivers. the biggest reasons for confidence this month is the anticipated rate cuts from the Federal Reserve. Lower interest rates generally lead to stocks gains. Additionally, lower rates tend to make stocks more attractive relative to bonds, pushing more investors into the equity markets. This shift in capital can further boost stock prices, as demand increases. The market’s momentum is another key factor. Despite some ups and downs earlier this year, stocks have shown resilience and a tendency to recover quickly from dips. This underlying

$S&P 500(.SPX)$   As September unfolds, we are looking at two powerful market forces: the anticipated Fed rate cuts and the continued surge in AI-driven growth. With the Fed expect to cut rates, the cost of borrowing will decrease, making growth-oriented companies more attractive. Since this year is about AI boom, maybe it's wise to add more AI related positions. September looks like a month where smart, informed strategies can pay off. keep a close eye on the impact of Fed rate cuts and the growth of AI, we can take advantage of the unique opportunities these forces present. Whether in stocks or options, a thoughtful approach would reap gains. Expect the market to be strong and gain momentum upwar

$SLM Corp(SLM)$ Target price by most analysts are at least 25% above current price. Expected to get to >$25. This company has consistently been beating sales forecasts and is cutting edge technology. Can expect more demand and tie ups with big corporations for further growth. Technical indicators may be mixed but I am loookg at longer term prospects. This stock is undervalued if we are willing to take a longer term approach.
