It is the 13th consecutive month of accelerating prices and the third straight month in which the growth rate of housing prices set a record. The 20-City Composite posted a 19.1% annual gain, up from 17.1% a month earlier. The 20-City results far surpassed analysts’ expectations of a 18.6% annual gain, according to Bloomberg consensus estimates.</p>\n<p>“The last several months have been extraordinary not only in the level of price gains, but in the consistency of gains across the country,” said Craig J. Lazzara, managing director and global head of index investment strategy at S&amp;P Dow Jones Indices, in a press statement. “In June, all 20 cities rose, and all 20 gained more in the 12 months ended in June than they had gained in the 12 months ended in May.”</p>\n<p>In June, Boston joined Charlotte, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, and Seattle in recording their all-time highest 12-month gains, according to the data.
