$Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$  Staying long for the long term!

A 11% price reduction is observed in $SINGTEL(Z74.SI)$ shares in the past month. So what exactly happened? Q1'24 results was not fantastic as the weakening of Aussie dollar (9% drop) and poorer Optus performance (1.8% drop in EBITDA margins) have contributed to a drag in SingTel earnings. On the flip side, good performance was observed in other parts of SingTel eg. Bharti. It has achieved a 33% increase in NPAT and this is largely contributed by increase in India's mobile ARPU - average revenue per user.  All in all, the outlook for SingTel group as a whole will be pretty flat in the coming months, unless a big transformation comes about from its $6billion dollars asset monetisation efforts or an effectiv

$Sea Ltd(SE)$ just announced its Q2 earnings and share price just crashed down on investors like the waves by the sea. *no pun intended*  Taking a close look at SEA earnings report shows that it's a mixture of good and bad news. -ve : Mobile gaming business further deteriorated for the 5th quarter as digital entertainment buzz during Covid peak are winding down. Consumers are spending more time outdoors now as Covid restrictions are lifted and hence the spending on games reduced. Neutral : Shopee revenue actually grew by 21% to 2.1bil. However, it has fallen short of analyst expectation of 2.25bil. Personally, I do think that the e-commerce business is still doing fairly well.  +ve : Financial services s

With rising revenue in spirits and poorer performance in beer volumes, $THAI BEVERAGE PUBLIC CO LTD(Y92.SI)$ recent results was deemed as rather neutral.  But first, why did beer sales dipped? It's largely due to a drop in alcohol discretionary spending in Vietnam as macro economy weakens. This has adversely affected Sabeco performance. On the other hand, spirits business is gaining momentum as sales price was increased and there is a better product offering on brown spirits. Overall, I am still bullish on ThaiBev as I believe the continued improvements in tourism will boost overall alcohol consumption. However, I will deploy my funds abit more cautiously as the market seems to plateau. Invest safe!

$Amazon.com(AMZN)$ once again didn't disappoint investors. It has reported quarterly profit that is almost twice the amount that analysts have expected. As a result, share price have skyrocketed around 9% post market. Amazon has further improved its delivery efficiency that led to faster goods turnaround time and at a lower cost incurred. This is definitely a great news for customers.  Furthermore, it is forecasted that Prime day that just took place recently will provide a spike in revenue for Amazon in the current quarter. As investors, we can expect more good news to come in the coming months! With that, please do your own diligence before investing in any stocks. Invest safe!

As we progressed in this high interest rate environment, it is highly likely that our dear local banks $UNITED OVERSEAS BANK LIMITED(U11.SI)$ $DBS GROUP HOLDINGS LTD(D05.SI)$ $OVERSEA-CHINESE BANKING CORP(O39.SI)$  will continue doing well with higher net interest margins and income. Uob has just released its earnings a couple of days back. Investors are not disappointed as the company has enjoyed a whopping 27% increase in net profit y-o-y compared to Q2 last year. Uob CEO has also assured investors that its acquisition of Citi's consumer business in the SEA region is spanning out well

On top of revenue and earnings beat, what is keeping investors excited about $Meta Platforms, Inc.(META)$ ?  Prior to 2023, Meta has been beaten down quite badly with its first reduction ever reported in the monthly active users base of FB. As the active user base starts to pick up in 2023, there has been a boost in the advertising revenue for the business as well. Furthermore, in my humble opinion, I really have to salute Zuckerberg's ability to make swift pivots in strategic direction to ensure the company stays relevant and competitive. Just awhile back, Facebook has been rebranded and renamed into Meta for the purpose of highlighting its intent to become a market leader in Metaverse. As profit

GXS is the digital bank baby of $Grab Holdings(GRAB)$  and $SINGTEL(Z74.SI)$ . Recently, it has increased it's deposit cap up to S$75,000 and what excites me the most is the attractive no-frills savings interest rate of 3.48%. Yes, no minimum balance requirements, no lock-in period for GXS savings account. Kudos to Grab and SingTel for launching such a user friendly banking app that allows sign ups to be completed in less than 3 minutes. Furthermore, basic functionalities such as top up and withdrawals are super easy to use. Truly a seamless digital banking experience. $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ Stock price just went south by ~10%. It was a painful drop, but for seasoned Tesla shareholders, this is nothing new. Tesla stock price is relatively volatile and it's not for the faint hearted.  So what exactly happened during earnings call that resulted in the sharp dip in share price? Basically, musk announced the possible price reduction in its products. And that creates fear of thinning profit margins which then resulted in a sell off. However, price adjustment to products are part and parcel of how companies adapt to macro economic conditions. In the current market, affordability is key in gaining traction. I believe that's why Musk made that announcement. All in all, I hope we are all ready for another round o
