Berkshire Hathaway seems to always be a decent bet for long term investors

I've travelled throughout mainland Japan and to many of their smaller islands. One of my favorite countries so yes I am contemplating a trip there

Managed funds and high interest deposit accounts. I'd like to invest in real estate but don't like the idea of taking on a mortgage.

when I'm closer to retirement or retired I wouldn't want excessive volatility as I wouldn't have the time to ride it out, so yes I'd hold more cash as I approach that age
