Rocket Lab ($Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$ ) closed the week at $16.85. The stock seems to have absorbed some sector rotation pressure, building a base above the $15 - $16.50 support area. Looking ahead, there's a case to be made based on a few catalysts. The Iridium acquisition, a major launch contract, a $190M defense backlog, and recent quarterly results showing record $200M revenue with a $2.2B backlog and over $2B in liquidity are often cited. The view is that this could be a long-term hold. Some projections out there mention a 5-year target in the $400-$500 range, which frames the setup as having potential.

Volatility is the earthquake that cracks the slab and shakes the beams. We saw that recently: a flush of about -10% intraday on a large loan pool refresh, followed by a full recovery to close green at 9.66. Gamma jumped roughly 20%. Algorithms appear to have flipped into accumulation mode on the dips. The elastic pool had to work overtime and still couldn't hold the price down. Big swings are now exposing the fragility—higher cost to borrow, forced hedging, and synthetics getting more expensive to maintain. The foundation is cracking. The S-4 filing and TAE fundamentals could do the rest.

There was a strong bounce off the 200-day moving average, which is exactly the type of reaction traders look for when a quality name tests a major long-term support level. The market often rewards patience. Buying strong companies on a pullback into key moving averages can create some solid risk/reward opportunities. I'm wondering if history might repeat here.
