Have you considered buying a call option to limit your losses while still allowing for potential gains if the stock price keeps rising?

I haven't really gotten into it. Relatively complex, and I prefer to keep things simple, buy and hold for long term. Although, there have been times I have thought "this would be a good company to short", and it did end up being a good company to short, so maybe I will try one day.

Despite general perspective of option trading being speculative, options are actual useful tool for leveraging and risk hedging, such as a protective call strategy. Volatility can be our friend and options are helpful tools to take advantage of market volatilities. @Healthy Tiger @evepek @ngph

The winning option trade for me was Tesla. They surprised me with a more  bullish outlook than I expected. I just sold them and took my chances on $U Power(UCAR)$ that have finished the official quiet period after listing on Nasdaq. Let's see if that was a wise move.....

Sell call at resistance , sell put at support. Sell option when iv is high, buy option when iv is low. If stock is bullish, sell put. If it is bearish, sell call

You are not wrong. It is always a dilemma. When you are bullish, by right you should sell put but you also know the put premium is quite low. This strategy give you a high probability to winning but small premium. if i just want to make small income, i will do that. However, if i am greedy, i will sell put at 10 percent below support for very short tenor, this is a big risk to me but theta is working in my favour, hence i am willing to take that position

Got it, so when the stock's looking good, I'll sell a put and when it's not so hot, I'll sell a call. And if the IV's high, I should sell the option and if it's low, I'll buy it. And at resistance, I'll sell a call and at support, I'll sell a put.

Been day trading options with a target of 10% per trade for the first 60-90 mins with volume and volatility. Trade based on key levels, manage stop-loss, risk-reward ratio and position sizing are the fundamentals. Stay disciplined, consistent, persevere, avoid overtrading or revenge trading, remove fear & greed to trade like a robot 🤖

Very good question. I enter based on price breakout of my levels. Hard stop at 20-25% with small size and wait for next entry with increased sizing with A+ setup only. Monitor big tech if taking QQQ, watch financial sector with big tech for SPY, SPX to confirm long or short entry.

option trading can be rewarding if done with the right strategy. however, trading within one's limit is important as it can be dangerous to go overboard. am still learning about option trading, so won't be too aggressive.

For pdd, i think my holding period is with 3-4 days. It is a playing with fire game. I thought iv was high at 100 who knows it pump to 300 iv which put me at a loss on day 3. But when earning releasr, all is in favour of sell put position.

I dont. I sell option betting on IV crash the next few days toward expiry. So i have iv and theta to help me in all trades. So sell option on high iv to receive high premium and let theta to work their way out. I picked 1-3 weeks to expiry

like some option traders here, I do the wheel strategy, as it works very well for me. the downside of this strategy is that if you are assigned and the market heads lower, you will end up holding the bag. it is worse if the stock continues to head lower and you won't be able to sell a decent call. in other words, the premium is pretty low and you run the risk of your stock getting called away below your cost price if you don't manage your trade properly
