U.S. stocks closed higher on Monday, led by gains in energy shares as the market continued to focus on corporate earnings and awaited July payrolls data. In the three months to the end of June, SoFi's total net income rose 37 percent to $498 million, driven by strong growth in personal loan issuance, more than doubling its net interest income (NII) to $291.1 million. The company said it expected to turn a profit for the first time in the fourth quarter of this year. The company's total deposits grew 26 percent to $12.7 billion in the quarter, driven by a 44 percent increase in its customers to more than 6.2 million.
