Earnings To Look Out (07 to 09 Aug) -> PLTR, UPS, DIS
Next week we will have a busy week again with some big names releasing their earnings reports.
Here are the stocks which I will be looking out and will share the earnings analysis near to their earnings release.
07 Aug 23 Post Market - $Palantir Technologies Inc.(PLTR)$
This stock has been hot in recent months, with shares up 140% since early May. Fueling the upside has been optimism around the data analytics firm's artificial intelligence (AI) efforts.
Indeed, Palantir's AI initiatives prompted Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives to initiate coverage on the tech stock with an Outperform (BUY) rating.
Here is how Palantir Parabolic SAR looks like as of now:
Palantir have been surging due to positive news of contracts win. Though it is in a bullish upwards trend, but if you notice its price is moving downwards.
There might not be sign of bearish reversal soon but a negative earnings release could send its share price down.
Questions is are we going to see more revenues collected from its contracts wins, and how Palantir is managing its cost, then profitable earnings will stay with much stronger showing?
If that happen, then we could see Palantir having a nice surge up. I will be monitoring its trading on 07 Aug.
And a detailed earnings analysis would be shared before the earnings release.
08 Aug 23 Pre Market - $United Parcel Service Inc(UPS)$
United Parcel Service has made headlines recently as market kept a close eye on contract negotiations between the logistics giant and its union workers.
The two sides reached a tentative agreement in late July, averting a strike that would have created a major headache for the global economy.
I think it would be interesting to see how investors and markets would be reacting and trading before its earnings report.
Here is how United Parcel Service Parabolic SAR looks like as of now:
UPS has been struggling with rising costs and their recent share price seem to be moving in a downward trend.
This does not bore well for UPS before its earnings release. I will be closely monitoring how it will be trading on 07 Aug 23.
09 Aug 23 Post Market - $Walt Disney(DIS)$
Market expect Walt Disney fiscal 3rd quarter report to show continued pressure in advertising and linear operating income, slightly higher direct-to-consumer dilution and mixed Parks results.
Something I will be looking out for is the announcements on price hikes to Walt Disney's Disney+ streaming service and updates on the launch of an ad-supported tier in Europe which is set for later this year.

Looking at how Disney is now in a downward trend, it show that the continued pressure in advertising and also increase price for the streaming service.
These might have a negative effect on both the share price and its upcoming earnings report.
I will monitor how Disney would be trading on 07 Aug and 08 Aug before its earnings report release.
Summary
I will be monitoring these 3 stocks as 2 of them are in my portfolio and it is important to understand how market sentiment is like prior to its earnings release.
2 of the stocks (UPS and Disney) do have some unfavorable condition which should affect its share prices and most probably will affect how its earnings is going to turn out.
But I will still be monitoring these 3 stocks and see how they would be trading before and after its earnings release.

i'm adding PLTR back in now, cautiously i might add! having sold after the peak, my favorite dollars to roll over are the 'house money' profits in the pockets dollars!
With Disney losing to Barbie at the box office Disney has decided to come out with a new Avengers movie. You can't even make fun of it, it's so bad it's a self-parody.
All futures are red it’s just a matter of time this will break that line and will head back to 6 dollars where is the buy back where is the NHS contract
UPS can survive, but for investors, I don't think it is a good investment. It has historically under performed SP500. It will be worse going forward.
Good to see PLTR went a little green in a down market. Over 50% of my stock holdings is in PLTR. Hopefully, it will go up from here!
UPS will probably report a good number for 2Q, but Usually UPS drops on earnings report, so the contrarian bet is it will go up next week.
Disney is at pandemic low. It trades like it’s going bankrupt. Reverse uptrend coming?
As a long term UPSer I believe that this company can overcome any short term problem.
