$Sea Ltd(SE)$ both TikTok and Timu are eyeing on South-eastern Asia as the key growth initiatives. E.g. TikTok GMV in the region was 1/10 of Shopee, but their next year goal is 1/3 of Shopee's. Furthermore, their core differentiation & value proposition is the same as Shopee's previous modus operandi, which is to provide steep discounts and free shipping for new users.

So, While Shopee is deprioritizing growth, and focusing on profitability with higher charges & fewer promotions, its cash-rich competitors are reusing its previous growth playbook. Overall, doesn't look good for $SE investors who are demanding both profitability and nice growth or market leading status now.

# Will Sea continue to go up as TikTok shuts shop?
